This old war horse has seen some things in its life judging by its overall condition. Stock is full of history with chips, dents and scrapes running its length no doubt from frontline actions. It is still, dispite its history, a very tight and well shooting Mauser. It is mostly matching numbers except the bolt and bolt components mismatched and missing its cleaning rod, unfortunatly the way they go with frontline weapons. It would be a beautiful peice in any military collection. Also most notably carved into the stock is 'EWB' which stands for a group called (Einwoherwehr Bayern) which was a Barvarian paramilitary group or "Civil Defense Guard" formed post ww1 from mostly veterans to help prevent communist parties gaining control of the country in the falllout of ww1. More photos on request. This is a very regretful sale but due to future NSW restrictions and not wanting history destroyed it has to go.
