This is a genuine factory commercial hunting rifle, not a military conversion. It is chambered in the classic 7x57 Mauser and features double set triggers, express rear sight, hooded front sight, walnut sporting stock with cheekpiece, and period German claw mounts fitted with a Gerard “Landlicht” scope. The rifle carries pre-1912 Imperial German crown proof marks and has a correct blank commercial receiver ring typical of early DWM production. Bore is excellent with strong rifling. Metal finish shows honest age-related wear and the stock is sound with normal handling marks consistent with a 120+ year old sporting arm. A scarce early commercial Mauser from the golden age of German gunmaking and a desirable chambering in 7x57. A quality piece for the collector of classic European hunting rifles.
