Correctly marked 'COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA' on the R.H. side of the receiver and carry’s the kangaroo monogram on the top of the knox form. 2nd pattern. Phased out in 1921 when the cadet forces began being issued with the standard Australian military Lee Enfield rifles. Good steel rifled (five groove) bore with round barrel, 62.40cm long. Falling block single shot breech loading martini action with cocking indicator. Steel trigger guard, loading lever, butt plate. Barleycorn foresight, graduated rear sight. Serial number16049 Butt and Receiver has C.M.F N.S.W and rack number 9304 stamped on it to indicate it was used by the NSW Citizen Military Forces In good condition, with some dings on the wood showing its age.
