Lithgow (MA), Bathurst (BA) Forbes (FA) and Wellington (WA).  The right side of the butt is marked MA 6/1950 No.2 Mk IV*  R indicating the month / year this rifle was re-purposed from 303 (R indicates Replacement Barrel) to 22 calibre in the Lithgow factory and from there widely used in cadet units up until 1975. These No.2 Mk IV* were the only 22 SMLE made by Lithgow. A2369 serial number on receiver indicates the original MkIII* this rifle was.
