Listing Number: 657601 Calibre: 45 BP Model: Antique Pair Condition: Very Good Price: $3700 Price Reduced Serial No: None Barrel Length: 7 inches State: VIC Advertised: null Comment: A fine and distinctive pair of German or Austrian percussion, travelling pistols originally made as flintlocks around 1780 or earlier. The .44 calibre, three stage, octagonal to round, barrels measure just under 7 inches while, on the whole, the pistols measure 11 inches. The barrels feature brass font sights and heptagonal shaped [7 sided] bores. The barrels are not rifled but straight cut all the way through. The plain flat locks had any makers marks removed during the conversion process. The barrels and locks were probably blued at the same time. Both locks are in good working order. The bass furniture featuring hexagonal rammer pipes, bird head butt caps and square back trigger guards, are all in very good condition. As are the brass side plates. The full-length European walnut stocks with fine relief carvings of floral motifs and spirals are also in very good condition. The rammers have horn tips and brass, cleaning jags and appear original to the pistols. Transferring Dealer: Save This Listing: All Ads by this Seller
