Price: $8,995.00 Condition: Excellent Caliber: 9mm Hand: Both/Ambi Serial #: 8121w Status: FOR SALE Date Added: 1/04/26 With the 'w' suffix, this falls into what is known as 'collector variation W-IX', which covers S/N 7710w-8200w which is around 500 pistols. In 1942 Mauser was instructed to cease production of the P.08 Luger so they could make the P.38 as the new Wehrmacht side arm. Between 1942 & 1944 some 1,200 were believed to have been made from existing parts mainly for police & very limited commercial sales. The chamber is dated '42' & the toggle bears the Mauser Banner trademark instead of the standard wartime secret squirrel code of 'byf'.
