The donor rifle was a Remington 700P and had fired approximately 1500 rounds. It is fitted with a brand new (unfired) Shilen stainless steel match barrel. 1:13 twist. Barrel length is 30” and the final 40mm has been turned to 3/4” to fit a front sight. The chamber is cut with a .340 neck which will be a reasonably tight fit on most good quality brass (eg. Lapua, Norma) without the need to do any neck turning. The specs were designed to give match grade accuracy using a 155grn BTHP Palma projectile and keep it supersonic to 1000yards. But it will still give stellar long range performance from factory loaded ammunition up to a maximum projectile weight of 175grn. Rifle is fitted with a fully adjustable Jewell HVR trigger, currently set at 16oz. The trigger alone is worth nearly $500 and they aren’t available new anymore. The MAK chassis is fitted with a genuine M16 butt stock and adjustable recoil pad. Also a genuine M16 handgrip.
